[Invited Talk] Wideband Load Modulated GaN Power Amplifiers for Wireless Base-Stations

(in English) Recently, 5G commercial services which have features of high speed, large capacity and multi-connectivity have rolled out, and the research and development on Beyond 5G/6G were actively done throughout the world. In the wireless base-station of those systems, the power amplifier for transmitter is necessary component, and its power consumption occupy the large portion of the over-all power consumption of the base-stations, and thus the technologies which increase the efficiency of the power amplifier and reduced its power consumption have been developed with much effort. In addition, 5G base-stations employed the massive-MIMO antenna, and the power amplifier in the 5G base-station required to be much compact in order to fit in the antenna array. Moreover, in the next generation, power amplifiers are required to be broadband in order to amplify the wideband signal with less distortion and enable the flexible operation of the base stations. In our company, we have been developing wideband GaN load modulated power amplifier for wireless base-station to satisfy the requirement in every generation.
