Study on Regional Income Gaps Using Multi-Agent Simulation
Akihiro Murakami, Nao Itou (NITT) CAS2021-72 ICTSSL2021-49
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In recent years, regional income gaps have become a major issue around the world. Since some studies have shown that widening regional income gaps reduce economic growth, it is important to investigate the causes of regional income gaps. The purpose of this study is to develop a model that can reproduce regional income gaps using multi-agent simulation. In the model we constructed, we obtained the same correlation as in the real economy: wages are higher in regions with more firms in the cluster.
