In-band full-duplex (IBFD) wireless communication is expected as a technology that ideally doubles the spectrum efficiency, while simultaneous transmission and reception at the same frequency induces self-interference (SI) and significantly degrades communication quality. The author proposed an architecture of a multi-band full-duplex base station composed of a common intermediate frequency (IF) band, and the SI cancellation is performed for different frequency bands by implementing a com-mon analog SI cancellation circuit in the IF circuit. Also, the author prototyped a radio frequency (RF) front-end based on this architecture and reported that the SI signal can be reduced by more than 30 dB. In this paper, two-elements integrated antennas for 3.7 GHz and 4.7 GHz bands with an isolation of more than 30 dB are connected to the RF front-end, and a total SI cancellation performance in the analog domain is evaluated in an anechoic chamber. Experiments are performed under different antenna placement conditions, such as placement on an aluminum plate, and it is confirmed that an SI cancellation performance of more than 60 dB can be obtained by combining the antenna and the RF front-end regardless of the conditions. |
