A uniaxially aligned thin film of a donor-acceptor conjugated polymer PDPP-DTT, which tends to form a rod-shaped aggregate in solution, was fabricated by bar-coating method. When the coating speed was 20 $mu$m/s or less, a very highly aligned thin film with an 2D orientation parameter S $approx$ 0.9 was obtained. In addition, the alignment direction of the main chain strongly depended on the solution concentration. When the solution concentrations were 1 g/L and 3 g/L, the main chains were uniformly aligned parallel and perpendicular to the coating direction, respectively. To clarify this phenomenon, a small-angle X-ray scattering measurement was performed on the PDPP-DTT solution, and the molecular orientation mechanism was discussed taking the aggregation phenomenon in the solution into account. |
