Research on fabrication of core selective polymerization type light-induced self-written optical waveguide using infrared optical communication wavelength

(in English) Light-induced self-written (LISW) optical waveguides are expected to realize an easy connections between optical fiber and silicon waveguides with passive alignment. In this study, we demonstrated to fabricate a core-clad all-solid LISW optical waveguide by process. All-solid LISW waveguides were created by irradiating a near infrared light (1310 nm) through a single-mode optical fiber. By observing the near field pattern (NFP) from the LISW waveguide end face, it was confirmed that the single-mode waveguide was fabricated.
