Evaluation of the equation of space charge limited current density under small charge approximation

(in English) The precision of the formula between the emission current density and the electric field was confirmed using numerical simulation, when the emission current density is lower than the space charge limited current density. One dimensional Poisson’s equation was solved by finite difference method to obtain the electric field on the cathode surface. As a result, it was found that the precision is within 1% so far as the reduction of the electric field at the cathode surface is less than 20%. It was also revealed that a good method to derive the electric field at the cathode surface under large space charge from the numerical simulation is necessary.
