(in English) NPO Institute of Digital Forensics was established in 2004 and has been working for the promotion of digital forensics and research since then. The importance of digital forensics to our society is increasing as the number of cybercrime and fraud cases increases, but unfortunately, research activities have not been very active. This may raise doubts about the proper handling of electromagnetic evidence in cyber crime scene. In this presentation, I will review the current status of digital forensics research in Japan and summarize the issues.
