Performance Evaluation of CORE with D2D Communications

(in English) Device-to-device (D2D) communication is a technology that allows direct communication between mobile terminals without the base station, and has a potential to improve energy and communication efficiencies. In a multi-hop network with D2D communications, the communication efficiency can be improved by network coding. There are two approaches to improve the communication efficiency: intra-flow and inter-flow network coding. In this study, we investigate the impact of network coding on D2D communications using CORE which combines both intra-flow and inter-flow network coding through computer simulations. The simulation results show that the performance of CORE is sufficiently reasonable with the number of input packets of 10 and the finite size of 16.
