Service Chain Construction with Dynamic Programming and Augmented Graph Based on Delay Analytical Model in Data Center Networks

(in English) When constructing service chains in a data center network, it is expected that the data centers where virtual network functions (VNFs) are to be placed and the transmission paths are to be determined appropriately to suppress the total transmission delay.
In this paper, we formulate a delay analysis model that takes into account the input and output traffic to the data center, and propose a service chain construction that minimizes the total transmission delay by using an augmented graph whose hierarchy changes depending on the number of VNFs deployed and a dynamic programming method.
Our augmented graph considers the increase in processing delay of existing service chains for a new service chain construction.
The performance of the proposed method is evaluated by simulation and its effectiveness is investigated by comparing it with other methods.
