Theoretical Analysis of In-Band Full-Duplex Radio with Polynomial Digital Predistorter

(in English) Self-interference cancellation is necessary to realize in-band full-duplex systems, which improve the spectral efficiency compared with half-duplex systems. Nonlinear self-interference cancellers have been developed because self-interference is nonlinearly distorted by amplifiers of the transmitter and receiver.However, linearization of amplifiers may degrade the communication performance of the in-band full-duplex system. In this study, we theoretically analyze the performance of the in-band full-duplex system with a polynomial digital predistorter (DPD). The theoretical and simulation results show that the symbol error rate can be reduced by linearizing the transmitted signal with DPD when using a linear canceller, but the symbol error rate can be reduced without DPD when using a nonlinear canceller.
