[Poster Presentation] Analyzing the impact of Deleting Links in Social Networks for Suppressing Information Diffusion on Social Media

(in English) The dissemination of harmful information such as fake news, and rumors has been a serious problem in the society. For suppressing the diffusion of harmful information, link deletion methods are considered to be a promising approach. Link deletion methods have been shown to be effective in reducing the size of information diffusion cascades generated by synthetic models such as SIS model on a given social network. In this study, we evaluate the effectiveness of link deletion methods on Twitter by using actual logs of retweet cascades, rather than by using synthetic diffusion models. Our results suggest that the effectiveness of the link deletion for suppressing information diffusion on Twitter is limited.
