[Poster Presentation] Improvement of Direction Estimation Accuracy in Blind Array Calibration for Near-field Radio Source Localization Using UCA

(in English) This study discusses the localization of radio sources such as user terminals using the MUSIC algorithm with a uniform circular array (UCA). The effect of mutual coupling in the array antennas cannot be neglected on the accurate radio source localization, and the effect degrades the estimation performance as an array error. As one of the methods to calibrate the array errors, the blind array calibration method has been proposed. However, the method is applied only to the DOA (directions of arrival) estimation of radio sources in the far-field of the array antenna. In addition, when the radio sources are in specific directions, the DOA estimation accuracy is severely degraded. Therefore, we propose a method to improve the direction estimation accuracy in the near-field radio source localization using UCA as the first step. Further, we show the effectiveness of the proposed method in direction estimation through computer simulation.
