In recent years, the introduction of wireless LANs to manufacturing sites has been progressing, and moreover, the introduction of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) is being promoted. We conducted a survey at an actual manufacturing site to investigate the problems that may arise when AGVs controlled by a wireless LAN are introduced after a wireless LAN infrastructure built for fixed terminals. As a result, we found that there are some factors that make the selection of access points unstable during roaming, such as the frequent occurrence of receiving radio waves from distant access points only for a short time while moving. |
