[Poster Presentation] Study on Separation and Identification of Multiple Targets in Traffic Monitoring Using MW FM-CW Radar
Kazuho Suzuki, Hiroyoshi Yamada (Niigata Univ.) AP2021-84
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Recently, traffic monitoring systems near intersections using millimeter-wave radar have been attracting attention, target identification by the radar and machine learning has been extensively studied. In the previous study, Convolutional Neural Network(CNN) provide more than 90% identification accuracy for single targets, but when there are multiple targets, it is necessary to separate the targets in order to identify each one individually. As a solution to this problem, we focused on the filtering preprocessing. In this paper, we separate multiple targets by filtering the experimental data with multiple targets in the angular and distance domain, and show the effectiveness of the filtering preprocessing by comparing the discrimination accuracy by CNN before and after the filtering.
