| (in English) | In this paper, we present a novel RAN architecture for Beyond 5G called “user-centric (UC) RAN architecture,” which provides high communication quality continuously to the user according to their surrounding communication environment no matter where the user is located. Two major remaining issues in 5G must hereby be solved: one is the “cell boundary problem” due to conventional cellular architecture and the other is the “insufficient uplink capacity problem” due to severe terminal limitations. We aim to solve the former by adopting “cell-free massive MIMO” technology on real base-stations that eliminates cell boundaries by coordinating many base stations, and the latter by using a “virtualized terminal” that wirelessly connects the antennas of peripheral devices around the user to enhance the number of antennas. | |
