In the international guidelines/standards, the whole-body average specific absorption rate (WBASAR) is used as a metric for protection against preventing excessive core temperature rise due to far-field exposure. The upper frequency of WBASAR was revised from 10 GHz to 300 GHz in the revision of ICNIRP guidelines. In the revised IEEE standard, the upper frequency of WBASAR was set to 6 GHz, and the upper frequency of WBASAR was set to 6 GHz, and the exposure reference levels (ERLs) for far-field exposure have been set up to 300 GHz. However, the rationale for the restriction of whole-body exposure is still unclear above 6 GHz. One of the difficulties in the electromagnetic dosimetry above 6 GHz is the reliability of skin modeling. This study developed the smoothing models with high resolution and realistic skin thickness depending on the body parts derived from conventional anatomical models. We then evaluated the WBASAR and core temperature rise using the multiphysics computation considering thermoregulation. |
