An excitation of millimeter-wave band leaky wave antenna using through-hole reflector and convertor from waveguide

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, the leaky wave antenna in the millimeter wave band above 100 GHz is investigated. First, the characteristics of the leaky wave antenna and its beam scanning characteristics are confirmed. In addition, we investigated the use of an offset type parabolic reflector to excite the plane wave. The parabolic reflectors were mounted using through-holes for easy fabrication and their characteristics were verified. In the millimeter-wave band, which is above 100 GHz, the power is often fed from waveguides to reduce transmission loss, so we also proposed a structure to convert waveguides to dielectric waveguides with higher efficiency. After designing the line at 100 GHz and calculating the required gain, it is shown that the gain can be achieved by using these structures.
