Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal suffers a dramatic loss from impulsive noise (IN) which is emitted from the electric power devices such as electric motors, inverters and the engine ignition. The conventional anti- IN methods such as the clipping, and the error correction code with interleaving, are not flexible to the varying wireless environment. Intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) as an advanced technique can be utilized to form a favorable wireless propagation environment. In this paper, we investigate the performance of OFDM with the aid of IRS (IRS-aided OFDM) and propose to optimize the phases of the elements at the IRS for maximizing the received signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR). The simulated results show that the optimal phase configuration can further improve the performance of the IRS-aided OFDM than that with random phases. |
