[Invited Lecture] A Study on Stochastic Characteristics of Short Term Variation in Low Base Station Antenna Height.

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) A study was conducted to clarify the stochastic characteristics of received level short term variations in low base station antenna heights, focusing on the variation mechanism. First, a theoretical consideration was made, and the evaluation was performed by ray-tracing simulations in line-of-sight environments based on the consideration. As a result, it was clarified that the short term variations can be well approximated by lognormal distributions proposed so far, but the standard deviations were very small values of about 1 dB. In addition, actual measurements were made to verify the validity of the results obtained by ray-tracing. As a result, it was shown that the variations were almost the same as the simulation results.
