Ground based augmentation system (GBAS) using GPS has been developed as a next generation landing guidance system. GBAS sends correction and integrity data to airplanes using a VHF data broadcast (VDB) antenna in 100 MHz band. Electromagnetic field analysis is effective to determine the optimal location of the VDB antenna. In this report, a 2D-FDTD/ray-tracing hybrid method suitable for airport surfaces is proposed and the simulated power distribution is evaluated by the comparison with that derived by the full-wave analysis. |
