Wireless power transfer via microwave is attracting interest because it solves the problem of battery of the sensors with the popularity of IoT. For wireless powered sensor networks, we address the challenge of scheduling for harvest-then-transmit (HTT) scheme, that is how a sensor node transmits data by using the energy from a base station. In this paper, we propose a novel HTT-based polling multiple access protocol, which analytically decides the optimal time slot length depending on wireless environment for each sensor node with statistical channel state information. We show that optimal time slot length minimizes the data transmission delay. |
