The main treatment for advanced testicular cancer is chemotherapy and following surgical resection of residual masses. The significances of residual tumor resection are complete resection of teratoma or detection of viable germ cell cancer. Patients with necrosis who underwent residual tumor resection resulted in a considerable overtreatment, but it is difficult to predict pathological outcomes of residual masses before surgery. Therefore, this study aims to predict pathological outcomes by performing ensemble learning based on the direct results given by ResNet and the results given by SVM using the features obtained by ResNet. We extracted CT slices of 150 regions of interest from a total of 63 patients. Three-fold cross-validation was used to measure the generalization performance, and it was confirmed that the prediction accuracy was higher than that of ResNet alone. |
