Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This paper proposes an efficient hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) method achieving both the packet combining and resolution of physical channel identifiers (PCID) collision during the retransmission in a non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA)-based random access system for multi-packet reception. Here, PCID represents the separator of simultaneously received packets using the same channel in NOMA; an example is a scrambling code used in 4G and 5G. Since the PCID is independently selected by users, decoding of received packets fails when multiple users select the same PCID. Independent reselection of PCID at the retransmission stage can resolve the PCID collision, however, the packet combining between the initial packet and retransmitted one is not possible in this case, since the relation of PCIDs between the initial and retransmission packets is not known at the base station receiver. To solve the problem, we propose a novel hierarchically structured PCIDs in which the PCID for initial packet transmission has one-to-one relation to the set of PCIDs for retransmissions. The proposed method achieves the resolution of the PCID collision at the retransmission stage by independent reselection of PCIDs at each user from the PCID set for retransmission which is dedicated to the PCID selected at the initial transmission. Since the relations between the PCIDs at the initial transmission and retransmission is known at the base station, packet combining is achieved simultaneously. Computer simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
