| (in English) | Security has traditionally been implemented at the higher, logical layers of communication networks, rather than at the level of the physical transmission medium. Issues of key management or computational complexity make the use of data encryption difficult. Physical layer security has started to be considered as a way to improve security in wireless communications. In this paper, we propose secure schemes to assure secure individual communications in the vulnerable public Wi-Fi networks. Using the concept of physical layer security (namely characteristics of radio propagation), we assure that a unique secret key can be safely exchanged between each user and an AP. Our proposed physical-layer secret key generation is utilizing OFDM (orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing) technique. The proposed key generation scheme was implemented on programmable FPGA-based SDR (Software Defined Radio). | |
