| (in English) | In recent years, speech synthesis has been used for audio description of movies and videos, and there is a need to improve its quality. In this study, a 5–second movie scene was used, and the speech rate of the audio description was varied from 0.8 to 2.0 with using human and synthesized voice. Eight sighted and eight visually impaired persons each evaluated the preferred speech rate. Based on the results obtained, the appropriate speech rate for synthesized audio description was discussed in relation to the movie sound. | |
