Electromotive force characteristic of piezoelectric/thermoelectric-combined power generator

(in English) We have investigated the electromotive force (EMF) of a composite sample consisting of a π-type thermoelectric power generation structure with a pair of p and n-type Si and a piezoelectric device in order to collect electricity from vibration energy and thermal energy, simultaneously. The observed EMF was obtained by superimposing the AC EMF of vibration energy on the DC EMF of thermal energy. At this time, the vibration component was the difference between the EMF applied to the p-type Si and that to the n-type Si. Therefore, we have improved the composite sample with diodes for rectifying the AC EMF. As a result, the full-wave rectification and the preservation of EMF amplitude were realized.
