We developed a motion correction method for brain dedicated PET systems. In the proposed method, a range sensor is used to measure the head motion for accurate tracking. In order to calibrate the sensor and the PET system, we have developed a marker-less calibration method using only the actual data of the subject without any prior measurements. The proposed method was validated by experiments using a phantom, and it was demonstrated that the proposed method could produce high-resolution PET images almost as good as the static images even in the case of motion. |
