In this paper, we consider a route optimizing problem in grid networks. A grid network is an overlay-network which can be constructed by dividing a wireless network into a grid of geographical square regions called cells. In every cell, a single node is selected as a router which is responsible for a routing and an inter-cell communication is realized using the
routers. We consider maintenance of two inter-cell communication paths to two destination nodes from single source node respectively When a destination node moves to a cell next to the current one, the path can be simply updated by extending it to the next cell. However, if a destination node repeatedly moves around the network, the path becomes redundantly long and needs to be shortened. In this paper, we present an algorithm for minimizing the number of the routers in the paths among one source node and two destination nodes using local information only. |
