Simulation of TDR waveform for fault location in overhead distribution line

(in English) It has been investigated that time domain reflectometry method was applied to an overhead distribution line to locate a fault. In this report, pulse propagation on the overhead distribution line with equipment was simulated by a circuit simulator with equivalent circuit model. An insulator and a zero-phase voltage detector in automatic sectional switchgear in the overhead distribution line cause reflection and degradation of amplitude and rise time of transmitted wave. The circuit simulation showed that the degradation of the amplitude can be suppressed if the pulse width of the TDR incident wave is set to about 1000~ns. In addition, a method for correcting the error in location of fault point was proposed considering delay due to the power distribution equipment. The proposed method was verified using a model simulated an actual power distribution network.
