An MSB Prediction-Based Method Using Linear Regression for Reversible Data Hiding in Encrypted Images

(in English) In this paper, we propose an MSB prediction-based reversible data hiding method using linear regression in encrypted domain. An adjacent pixel is used as a predictor for error detection in MSB prediction in the previous work. Meanwhile, the proposed method introduces linear regression to obtain the predictor, and the number of prediction errors can be decreased. In another respect, the previous work divides the image into fixed-sized blocks and determines the embeddable area with respect to each block. In contrast, our method determines the embeddable area pixel by pixel without block division. Consequently, the total area, where the data can be concealed, is increased. Additionally, the length of the flag is selectable in our method, and thus the hiding capacity can be further improved by choosing the optimal length. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method in terms of reversibility and hiding capacity.
