Optimum Beam Synthesis for An Arbitrary Receiving Plane in Radiating Near Field

(in English) This report proposes an optimum beam synthesis method to maximize the beam collection efficiency (BCE) for an arbitrary receiving plane in radiating near field. The proposed method can take into account mutual coupling between antennas by using the active element patterns as the element patterns. We describe the optimization results for various receiving plane models in the radiating near field, which has not been investigated in detail. The electromagnetic simulation result shows that the optimization considering mutual coupling increased the BCE by 8.71 points and the radiation efficiency by 8.61 points, and decreased the reflection loss by 13.24 points compared with the case without considering mutual coupling. As a result, the transmission efficiency between the transmitting and receiving antennas increased by 14.71 points, which supports the effectiveness of the proposed method.
