In this paper, we propose a method for estimating customers’ interests using videos recorded by a security camera in a real retail store. In the retail industry, it is important to understand the customers’ interests in stores. However, they cannot get the data from customers who did not purchase any products. In recent years, several methods have been proposed to classify the behavior of customers based on videos recorded from security cameras in a store. However, it is difficult to define all the behaviors of customers’ interest due to their diversity. In this paper, we propose a method for estimating customer interests using an anomaly detection model based on the posture information of customers in security camera videos. The anomaly detection model is trained using only the data without data annotated as “Interest”. To estimate the interest of customers, we calculate the energy based on the anomaly detection model and determine the interest if it exceeds a threshold value. Additionally, we propose an example of a real-world application of our interest estimation method. |
