Computation of the Local SAR and Temperature Rise in Anatomically-based Hand Model due to Contact Current

(in English) Contact current occurs when the human body contacts with an object at a different electric potential. A electrostimulation and heating are caused by induced electric field. Therefore, the reference level is set in terms of injected contact current in the international guidelines/standard for practical assessment purpose. However, because of enough data on the nerve action and temperature rise due to contact current, the ICNIRP guidelines introduced ‘guidance’ instead of the RL for its protection. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct the dosimetry for contact current to improved the rationale of the guidelines. The present study discussed internal tissue modeling of the finger to validate the computational modeling of the finger in terms of electrical impedance. Then, the SAR and temperature rise due to contact current in the frequency range from 100 kHz to 100 MHz have been computationally derived.
