The composition of the fire department, which defines the number and
layout of fire stations and the organization of fire engines, is an important
factor in achieving efficient firefighting with limited resources.
In our previous research, we have developed FD-CAST,
a tool to calculate and visualize the dispatching of fire engines
to each township in a region based on the composition of the fire department.
FD-CAST simulates the dispatch of firefighting based on the configuration information prepared
in advance, and it is difficult to find the optimal configuration because it requires
manual trial and error to find out what configuration can be improved.
In this study, we add a system that automatically calculates the optimal configuration
of fire stations for FD-CAST based on various requirements.
The system calculates what changes can be made to the current configuration to make it better.
The user can set the constraints and the objective function arbitrarily.
In this paper, we use a prototype of the developed system to solve optimization problems
and verify the effects of the resulting placement changes. |
