[Invited Talk] A Community-based IoT Service Platform with Wi-SUN Device Equipped Mobilities

(in English) This talk presents our Proof-of-Concept oriented research and development activities for the purpose of alleviating recent social issues and enhancing community development, by equipping Wi-SUN (Wireless Smart Utility Network) devices with regional mobilities such as taxies and autonomous traveling robots.
The author takes notice of Wi-SUN (Wireless Smart Utility Network), which utilizes the license-free 920 MHz frequency band, and will be becoming rapidly popular as a wireless communication standard for smart meters.
Considering the characteristics of (1) radio propagation distance with more than a few hundred meters, (2) low energy, and (3) a small and light-weight system, the key wireless networking technology is developed, which organically combines a flooding-based wireless multi-hop technology and an opportunistic network technology based on the store-carry-forward (SCF) .
This talk shows the details of experiments using Wi-SUN devices equipped with 65 operated taxies in Tokyo, and its future perspective of the fusion with Edge/Cloud AI for future mobile CPS services.
