Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Unmanned operation of radio-controlled bulldozer in mines can be an effective solution for avoiding such life-threatening risks as overturn on a slope or fall from a cliff. For highly efficient dozing and leveling of ground, important is the range within which high-speed and reliable wireless communication can be maintained. Though actual measurement of power can provide such a range, in the mines whose terrain frequently changes along dozing and leveling of ground by bulldozers, frequent measurement of power may be required. In order to examine the possibility of substituting simulation for actual measurement of power, we analyzed 5GHz band radio wave propagation, considering directivity of multiple antennas on a mining bulldozer. As a result of comparison with actual measurement of power within approximately line-of-sight 400m distance, we found that the power estimated by the simulation is different no more than approximately 5[dB] from the result of actual measurement. We consider this indicates the possibility of shortening the period for maintenance of wireless communication environment.
