Intrinsic Localized Mode (ILM) is known as a periodic solution where the lattice vibration is spatially localized in a nonlinear coupled oscillator. The existence of rotating ILMs (R-ILMs), in which rotational motion around the lattice axis is localized, has also been confirmed in a flexible nonlinear one-dimensional chain. In this paper, we numerically investigate the stability and mobility of R-ILMs on a nonlinear 1D-chain placed in 3D-space. First, the existence of two types of stationary R-ILMs with different symmetries was confirmed, and their stability and energy differences were investigated with respect to the angular frequency and the nonlinear coefficient of the on-site potential. Then, it was confirmed that moving R-ILMs can be generated near the parameter where the stability of the two types of stationary R-ILMs alternates, and the smaller the energy difference is, the longer distance the R-ILM can travel. |
