[Invited Lecture] Network control technologies based on QoS requirements

(in English) With the development of virtualization technologies such as Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), networks can be controlled dynamically and flexibly by software operations. On the other hand, Quality of Service (QoS) requirements are diversifying due to the diversification of services and user terminals, and it has become important to provide communication services that can meet the diversified QoS requirements. For example, if the same service has different QoS requirements at different user terminals, QoS requirements exist for a number of combinations of service types and terminal types. Therefore, the authors are studying network control based on QoS requirements by utilizing network virtualization technology to support diversified communication services. This technology predicts QoS for each service and user, and controls communication paths to avoid traffic congestion. In this paper, we introduce an overview and technical issues of network control based on QoS requirements.
