画像によって惹起される感情 (画像感情) の推定手法について, 盛んに研究が進められている. 一方で, 個人 によって感情の抱き方は様々であり, 画像感情は一つに定まるとは限らない. そこで, 画像感情のばらつきの程度につい て理解することが重要である. 本研究では, 感情の誘発因として content と context の二種類を仮定し, content による 感情惹起においては画像感情の個人間のばらつきが小さいと予想した. content は 感情と結びつく画像中の object を さす. context は 複数の object同士の関係によって理解される画像の意味をさす. この予想を検証するために, content によって感情が惹起される画像と context によって感情が惹起される画像のそれぞれを被験者に提示し, 感情価の正答率を調べた. 正答はあらかじめ画像にタグ付けられた感情価を用い, 正答率が高ければ画像感情のばらつきが小さいとみなした. また画像提示後に, 画像中に存在した object を選択させ, その適合率および再現率と感情価の正答率との関 係を調べた. 結果として, content による感情惹起では, context によるものと比べて感情正答率が有意に高いことが確 かめられた. 一方で, content 性の画像においても感情の正答率が低いものや, 逆に context 性の画像で感情の正答率が 高いものも存在した. また, 画像中の objectの把握と感情の正答率の関係については強い相関は確認されず, content と context の差も顕著ではなかった. |

There are a lot of researches on image sentiment prediction. Many datasets assign a sentiment to an image, but each individual has different emotional perceptions. Therefore, it is important to understand the variation of personal image perceptions. We hypothesized that there are two factors in the induction of emotions; content and context. Content means some object that is related to emotions, and context means the gist of the image that is conceived from multiple objects in the image. We also hypothesized that there would be less inter-individual variability in the induction of emotion by the content. We conducted experiments to test this hypothesis. Participants were presented with content dominant images and context dominant images and asked the valence of the image, and we measured the accuracy. The accuracy is calculated based on the tagged sentiment. We regarded higher accuracy as lower variability. Besides, we asked participants which objects were in the image in order to see the relationship between the correctness of the object recognition and accuracy of the valence. The results showed that the accuracy of the valence was significantly higher in content dominant images than context dominant ones. On the other hand, some content dominant images have low accuracy of valence and some context dominant images have high accuracy. |
