DeVA: Development of VR Applications to Improve Disaster Prevention Knowledge Based on Evacuation Experiences

(in English) People are most important to evacuate early when unforeseen disasters occur, such as the Great East Japan Earthquake, Kumamoto earthquake, and Hokkaido Eastern Iburi earthquake. This study describes that develops and verifies a virtual reality (VR) application for improving knowledge of disaster prevention based on evacuation experience. This system includes behavioral psychology when a disaster and allows for immersive by VR. Besides, people can repeat evacuation training in various situations by VR. This time, we conducted an experiment with four students, confirmed that this application may improve knowledge of disaster prevention of appropriate evacuation.
