As the performance of networks and commodity hardware improves, We will apply Network Function Chaining (NFC) to multiple customer flows on a single machine. In this paper, we design and discuss an architecture that has both security and performance in such an environment. Based on the characteristics of NFs, we place them in appropriate layers and chain them efficiently to achieve high performance. Since the existing Linux system is not sufficient for efficient cooperation, we will discuss the improvement plan. We also describe the security of the NF execution environment to protect other tenant flows from NFs that contain bugs and maliciousness. |
