Doppler Frequency Detection Using Channel Impulse Response

(in English) With the spread of the Internet of Things (IoT), the detection of terminal movement has become an issue. In the IoT, the user can use it while stopping or moving. Therefore, in order to provide services suitable for each situation, it is necessary to detect the movement of the terminals. In order to detect the movement of the terminal, various additional technologies are required. In this paper, we consider the method for Doppler frequency determination using only wireless communication technology with Doppler variation due to terminal movement without the additional technology. The variation amount due to Doppler is calculated from the channel impulse response obtained from the channel estimation. Then, by modeling the amount of variation with an exponential function, we detect the threshold of two Doppler frequencies and Doppler frequency. We reduce the computational cost of the Doppler frequency detection method with frequency domain equalization of the conventional method. We also show that increasing the number of sample packets is effective in the detection error characteristics. By increasing the number of sample packets from 1 to 5, the characteristic is improved by about 40% at Eb/N0 = 35[dB].
