[Invited Talk] Soft Surface 2-D Communication: Toward Applications in Wearable Systems and Dense IoT Spaces

(in English) In this presentation, the authors' recent works on two-dimensional communication and power transmission, especially using flexible materials such as conductive textiles, will be presented. The authors develop technologies that enable the surfaces of clothes, chair seats and backs, and beds, to function as a power/data transmission medium for small electronic devices such as sensors, and as a non-contact power/data transfer interface between the flexible objects. Expected applications include wearable systems with many sensors distributed on the body surface, Internet of Things (IoT) environments with densely distributed sensors, and advanced interaction technologies between humans and intelligent spaces.
