Study on Design Guidelines for Low Power Capsule Endoscope System Using Compressed Sensing

(in English) Recently, a capsule endoscopy has attracted a lot of attention as a minimally invasive method of gastrointestinal examination. However, capsule endoscopy suffer from large amount of power consumption at the radio transmitter caused by wireless transmission of images. To solve those problems, we are studying a data compression using compressed sensing(CS). Using CS to reduce the amount of data handled in the system, it is expected to reduce the power dissipation of the circuits in the system.
In this paper, we revealed the effects of varying two parameters, blocking size and number of iteration of orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP), on the reconstruction accuracy of achieved capsule endoscope image by CS. Furthermore, we proposed guidelines for the design of capsule endoscope systems using CS with OMP as a restoration method.
