A Proposal of Self-Organizing Map Based on Attribute Information with Attenuate Rate

(in English) Self-organizing Maps(SOM) is a simple algorithm, has excellent clustering capabilities, and can create a nonlinear model. However, since SOM performs neighborhood learning based on the similarity with the best matching unit, nodes that belongs to same class are scattered on the competitive layer and affects around nodes. Therefore, nodes on boundaries between classes becomes unclear. So far, researchers have accumulated attribute value information using the attribute information of the input data during learning, and used it to control the degree of learning. In addition, in this paper the accumulated attribute value information is given an attenuate rate to reflect the latest learning results. In the experiment, we used handwritten numbers and verified the effectiveness with attenuate rate.
