Constructing structured data on functional hypotheses of the brain

(in English) In the recent years, it has become popular in the field of neuroscience to publish experimental data and models as open data in a structured format in order to increase reusability and interoperability of such data. However, there is no established structured data that focuses on computational aspects of information processing in the brain. Therefore, we constructed structured open data on hypotheses about computational functions of the brain together with mesoscopic level anatomical structures of the brain; Brain Reference Architecture(BRA). BRA can be referenced in designing brain-inspired software and could be used for assessing biological plausibility. Such software could contribute to increasing human-friendliness of man-machine interface and development of computational psychiatry. In this paper, we define Brain Information Flow(BIF) format that is dedicated to describe information processing in the brain. We describe methods to construct BRA, report on current status of BRA, and also on challenges that we face.
