In an embedded system environment, it is necessary to keep safe the system from some problem. In particular, power supply trouble is a large problem that cause a large amount of overhead due to the loss of all data in the volatile module.
NS Favoruser the power supply backuped area of Responsive Multithreaded Processor (RMTP), that is a processor for embedded real-time system, and has the function to restartthe task at the clock level granularity when the power is turned on again.
However, the overhead of restarting the task by NS Favor is over 100k clock cycle, and there is a problem that it cannot be applied to a system that requires fine-grained control.
In this research, the power supply backed up module Trace Bufferwas redesigned in order to reduce the overhead of task restart of NS Favor. As a result, overhead of task restart is reduced to about 10%. |
