Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Plastic surgery reconstruct to match the facial shapes of patients with gender identity disorder to gender identity. In the surgery, it is important to have cosmetic aspect that looks like natural as male or female. However, few studies focused on the shape characteristics of each part of the face (eyes, nose, mouth, cheeks, philtrum, etc.). Therefore, we considered characteristics of external nose and philtrum of male and female could be analyzed by using deep learning and image recognition technology, developed a system to visualize the judgement and characteristic parts of male and female’s external nose and philtrum. As a result, we clarified gender can be estimated from the tip of the nose and the root of the nose.
