Analysis of cardiomyocytes is urgently needed to elucidate the pathophysiology of heart disease. Cardiomyocytes are characterized by a lower volume ratio of cell nuclei in the cytoplasm than other cells. In this study, these characteristics are used to extract cell nuclei and cytoplasm from fluorescence microscopy images of the heart of newborn mice and classify cardiomyocytes and other cells based on volume ratio. When correct answer data was created using fluorescent images of cardiomyocytes and the experimental results were compared, the accuracy of classification was about 80%. From the experimental results, this method is considered to be effective as an approach for cardiomyocyte classification. |
