[Poster Presentation] Design of graded-index type photonic crystal fiber with uniform air hole diameter and its application to fiber collimator

(in English) A graded-index (GI) type photonic crystal fiber (PCF) that has an α-power effective index distribution in radial direction operates as a multimode optical fiber. A GI-PCF can be applied to a collimator for single-mode PCF. In this study, we proposed a GI-PCF with uniform air hole diameter, where the air hole pitch was varied in radial direction. Lightwave propagation characteristics in Gaussian beam excited GI-PCF with uniform air hole diameter were theoretically investigated. The suitable structure of GI-PCF with uniform air hole diameter for the collimator for single-mode PCF was clarified.
